Advertising Policy

Last updated 2026-10-23.

Draft text. This document is a working draft for the demo installation. It must be completed and reviewed by a qualified lawyer before the service goes live.

This policy applies to everyone who runs a campaign through Promote. It sits alongside the Terms of Service.

How it works

  • You add funds to your Promote balance, then allocate a budget to a campaign and set a price per verified view.
  • A view is charged only after it is verified: the whole ad played, the viewer’s tab stayed in view and the viewer confirmed they were present. Centhead keeps a flat 1% of each charge; the viewer receives the rest.
  • Any sponsored-visit bonus you offer is paid from the same budget, once per view, when the viewer opens your link, and is disclosed to the viewer as a sponsored visit.
  • You can stop a campaign at any time; unspent budget returns to your Promote balance. Payments are made by card through Stripe. If you want unspent balance refunded to your card, write to support@example.com.

Review

Every campaign is reviewed by a person before it runs, and again whenever you change the sponsor name, headline, description, button, image, video or destination. We may remove or pause any campaign at any time, and may suspend accounts that repeatedly breach this policy.

Not allowed

  • Anything illegal where it is shown, and anything that promotes illegal goods or services.
  • Misleading or deceptive claims, fake testimonials, guaranteed income or investment returns, and get-rich-quick offers.
  • Adult content, gambling, weapons, tobacco and vaping, unregulated financial products and cryptocurrency offers, and anything aimed at minors.
  • Malware, phishing, impersonation, or destinations that try to collect passwords or payment details under false pretences.
  • Political and issue advertising, unless we have agreed in writing that it may run.
  • Fake engagement. You may not use Promote to obtain likes, comments, follows, subscriptions, reposts, reviews or view counts on other platforms, and may not reward or ask viewers for them. Those are artificial indicators that the platforms prohibit and that consumer-protection law forbids.
  • Generating views or visits yourself, through accounts you control, or through any method designed to spend your own budget and collect it back.

Chargebacks and disputes

If a payment you made is disputed with your card issuer, your campaigns are paused while we review the account. Earnings that viewers received from a disputed payment may be reversed. We may use funds in your balance to cover costs caused by a dispute.

Reporting

Your dashboard shows views, visits, spend and remaining budget in real time. To report an ad you believe breaks this policy, write to support@example.com.
